Losing weight, or staying in fit shape is a great and worthy goal to have. Here I'll give you a couple of tips to help you wherever you are along the path of fitness. I'll show you a method to maximize your fat burning metabolism, making it easy to burn fat while you sleep.

There are basically two kinds of exercise. The first kind is long and relatively slow, and burns the oxygen you breathe for energy, as well as store energy in the form of blood sugar, or if you're at it long enough, body fat. Usually people that want to lose weight choose this kind, as it has the potential to burn fat directly.

The second kind of exercise is the short, quick, burst of energy kind. Sprinting, weight lifting, running up stairs are examples of this. This burns only stored blood sugar. You can only do these until you run out of breath. People usually shun these because you can only do them for a short time, so people are under the impression that you can't burn fat doing them.

This is where most people make a mistake. While you can get value from both, there is a hidden benefit from doing short bursts of high intensity exercise. This is that when you do these, you build up your muscles. And by building up your muscles, you will actually increase your resting metabolism, making it easy and natural to burn fat when you are just sitting around.

If all you do is long, slow exercise like running and cycling, you won't increase your resting metabolism by very much. In fact, you may actually decrease it, as your body becomes much more efficient in burning calories, so it may actually reduce the amount of food you need to eat.

Naturally, if you incorporate both of these into your exercise plan, you will maximize your benefit. People that benefit the most sometimes choose to alternate days, or even do both on the same day.

Whichever method you choose, by combining these you are sure to maximize your weight loss efforts. Before you know it you will have a lean, sexy body and will be the envy of all your friends.
